Contact improvisation & Chi Nei Tsang Bodywork
Healing doesn't always need words.
Sometimes it looks like the tissue softening or a moment in movement when something releases you didn't know you were gripping.
For the past several years, I've been living at the meeting place of nervous system regulation, bodywork, movement, and nature-based practices. My in-person offerings are an extension of that embodied exploration.
The body remembers what the mind has tried to set aside. It expresses what has been held back. And it offers pathways toward authenticity, congruency, and connection that no amount of thinking alone can open.
My in-person work, along with coaching, currently includes
Chi Nei Tsang abdominal bodywork
Contact Improvisation.
Two distinct practices that share one underlying question:
what becomes possible when we learn to actually listen?
Chi Nei Tsang
Trauma-iNformed Abdominal Bodywork for the Organs, Emotions & Life Force
Chi Nei Tsang is a traditional Taoist healing practice that works directly with the abdomen—the center of digestion, vitality, and emotional processing.
The abdomen is where life concentrates itself: the organs responsible for our most fundamental survival, including breathing, nourishment, and elimination, live here. They develop before almost anything else does in embryological life, and they hold our sense of internal fullness and organic authenticity long before the mind forms stories. They also act as primary habitats for what we haven't yet found words for: stored tension, unprocessed emotion, the residue of chronic stress, illness, surgery, or a history of a body that has never been truly met.
Who are you beneath the skin?
What does your digestion tell you about the life you're living?
What story does your belly hold?
benefits may include:
Improved digestion and organ function
Release of physical tension and emotional holding patterns
Greater vitality and internal spaciousness
Deeper embodiment and emotional clarity
Nervous system regulation and stress relief
Lower back, pelvic, and sacral relief
Menstrual and fertility support
When the belly is tight or congested, life force (chi) becomes restricted. We feel it as sluggish digestion, chronic tension, emotional flatness or overwhelm, or a vague sense of being stuck. Chi Nei Tsang works with these patterns through attentive touch, breath, and sound, supporting the body's own capacity to reorganize itself from the inside out.
This isn't a massage in the conventional sense. It's a conversation with the deeper layers, and one that often continues long after you leave the table.
Please note there are contraindications for Chi Nei Tsang. Kindly reach out if you're interested or have any questions, so we can discuss the preparation in detail beforehand.
Offered by appointment in Cape Town.
Contact Improvisation
A Practice of Listening Through Movement
Contact Improvisation (CI) is a movement practice rooted in sensation, shared weight, and the intelligence of the body in real time. Rather than learning steps or choreography, participants explore movement through touch, gravity, momentum, and reflexive response. The practice invites us to listen—to ourselves, to others, and to what arises between us in any given moment.
It can be playful or tender. Grounding or expansive. Sometimes nothing particularly dramatic happens, yet the micro moments of spontaneity and organic creativity that emerge can be life-changing.
No dance experience is required. Only curiosity. How do you move when no one is watching?
And what changes when someone is genuinely present with you?
Many people find that over time, CI supports:
Greater body awareness and confidence in movement
Authentic connection and ease with physical contact
Nervous system regulation through co-regulation with others
Flexibility, coordination, and adaptability
Clarity, boundaries, discernment, and self-trust
Comfort and trust with uncertainty (in the body and life)
Playfulness, vitality, and creative presence
Classes and jams are open to all backgrounds and experience levels.
Upcoming Classes (location shared on request):
July 12 / 2 - 5pm - Jam & Authentic Movement

Desiring to Go Deeper?
There are moments when stepping outside of ordinary life’s rhythms, demands, and familiar patterns creates the conditions for a deeper listening, so that something more authentic can emerge.
My one-on-one and small-group retreats bring together movement, ritual and ceremony, Nature connection, and creative nervous system regulation practice in carefully held spaces. These retreats are not one-off events; rather, they are thresholds that invite a more congruent way of being.
If something in you is calling for more than a weekly practice can offer, this may be where that call leads.
